Stepping Outside the Box – I am Leaning Wayyyy Out Over the Edge!

Welcome back! I appreciate you and your support. You can still subscribe to my RSS Feed Thanks for visiting! Have an awesome day!

Here I am, pushing against the edges of my comfort zone big time. When I decided to create a blog, my first thoughts were about the quality of content and relevancy. Never did I give a thought about constructing and building the website. Oh boy, was I in for a rude awakening!

It didn’t take long to realize I needed to find a great source that could take me step by step through the process of widgets, tags, plugins, etc. After I found that source, I thought everything was cool. Well…not so fast there.

Keeping up with all the new information that was presented put me into overload. Of course, being a little OCD about things, I wanted everything to be neat and structured, all tied up with a bow. Doesn’t work that way. There isn’t time to sit and take things slow, technology is moving at the speed of light. If you don’t hit the ground running, you’ll be left in the breakdown lane. Needless to say, it was time to push against my limits. I was leaning wayyyy out over the edge!

The Edge

Life Lesson?

Kinda reminds me of life. You can either sit on the sidelines, watching what goes on around you; or you can step up, get into the game and play alongside everyone else. Life is not a constant; it’s an ever-changing scenario. If you aren’t willing to open up to exploring new ideas, you become stagnant. The truth is you are either growing or you are dying. There is absolutely no age limit on learning! Learning is an on-going experience.

The great part is when you DO decide to step into it, you expand yourself in ways you never imagined. Circumstances bring people and ideas to you all the time. All you have to do is learn to be in the moment and hear the message.

I know, I know, that one took awhile for me to understand too. How exactly do you stay in the moment? By engaging in life – by talking to people, really hearing what they say. You never know what another person has to share with you unless you listen with your heart. It’s not the big AH HA moments, it’s the little aww moments that occur at anytime that count.

What are you going to do now?

A comfort zone is just that – comfort. No growth there, just more of the same. You can expand the edges of your comfort zone whenever you choose. That fear of the unknown can be quieted by simply taking a step, and another step, and another step. Every journey begins with a step. When you think you’re going to fall, reach out. There’s always someone there to guide you, if you open up to the possibilities.

So what’s it going to be? Are you open to stretching your comfort zone? I am!

Woo Hoo! What a wild ride. I’m lovin’ every minute of it. My heart is racing, my head is spinning and I’ve never felt more alive! Come join me, there’s room for everyone.

I hope you enjoyed this. I would love to hear your thoughts about comfort zones. Please feel free to leave me a comment below. Have an awesome day!

There are so many things in life that repeat over again and again, but it is our choice what we choose to do afterward. I myself was stuck in the same path for a while, but it was a wonderful feeling when my eyes opened. I am definitely not saying that I know it all, there will always be so many lessons in life to learn. It is nice to know that there are people that feel as if they too can grow and will share with others.

    Hi Val,

Learning new things can be very overwhelming for all of us but like you said you can either jump in and get your feet wet or sit on the sidelines and watch as a spectator. Leaders like yourself never see life as a spectator sport. Keep up the great work.

I agree to Val’s response to James comment that life is so much richer when you are willing to step up and give it your all. There is nothing wrong if you try because that would lead to success especially if have enough courage and if you think positively.

Great post Val, meaning your blog is interesting because you see people commenting or interacting with each other.

HI Val, So true and I really relate. For years I avoided the social media route as it means putting yourself on the line and taking a risk! So I didn’t but as you explained so well, things stayed comfortable but not much change. I finally took the leap and there is no going back now- bring it on I say!

    Hi Val,

I loved your blog post. Very encouraging too.

I’ve recently given up the corporate life and the corporate pay check to set up a new business. I’m also leaning wayyyy out over the edge. Trying hard not to look down, and just hoping the universe is going to support my dream of helping people and organisations do extraordinary things.

I’ve also installed commentluv on my own blog, and hoping people will see what we’re doing that way too.

Anyway, you have a great blog here. Thanks for sharing Val. I’ll be coming back again. :-)

    Best regards,

Leaning over the edge is exciting. You definitely know you are alive!

Instead of looking down and hoping the Universe will support you, change the wording to “I am looking up and the Universe is providing all that I need to accomplish my goals.” Empower yourself through positive statements.

    Here’s to your success!
    Val :)
